Football Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
