Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for performing sexual assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
