Beautiful weather, classic snacks and legendary venues - what more could an England cricket fan desire?

Ideally, they'd want an Ashes series in Australia where they still have a chance to win back the Ashes after the first three Tests.

This is not the case during this tour, after Australia's crushing triumph in Adelaide put the hosts 3-0 up for the fourth consecutive series on home turf.

England's famous supporters' group, England's supporters' group, have a large group flying out for the concluding fixtures in New South Wales and Victoria.

In addition, there are travel parties who will be vacationing in Australia, as well as loved ones embarking on a dream holiday.

Fans with Booked Tickets

A group of four supporters are a prime example.

The group had their itineraries and entry credentials secured for the Boxing Day and New Year Tests "well ahead of time", anticipating a long-awaited triumph.

Sadly, they've observed Australia defeat England convincingly in just under two weeks from their family home in Penwortham, Lancashire.

"All my colleagues has been teasing me that the series is done for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"Our expectation had been that we would have a meaningful contest upon our arrival."

Diminishing Hope

Hope was abundant about England's chances of ending their 15-year wait for a triumph on Australian soil before it began.

However, the situation is now staring down the barrel of prolonging a streak without victory in the country to 19 matches when the next match starts in Melbourne this week.

The tourists - and their fans - will be hoping to sidestep a dreaded 5-0 scoreline.

One sibling noted the "entertainment" of head coach Brendon McCullum's 'Bazball' in recent years had "brought fresh energy to" Test cricket for England fans.

But the Ryding siblings said they had realistic outlooks for the fourth and fifth Tests - and all they are requesting from the players is "a show of spirit".

"All analysts alludes to it, but it all is about fortitude. 'Bazball' has been elevated to a term now that is just, like, nonsense cricket," commented another sibling.

"Over the course of five days, you should dig in. Wafting outside 'wide of off stump has never featured in the coaching manuals, and that is mainly the fault the frontline batsmen."

Looking Ahead

When questioned if he believed England will triumph in a Test in this Ashes series, one fan responded: "The evidence suggests the hosts are a stronger side currently."

"There is going to have to be several individuals that delivers for the team and turns the game."

Even with the series lost, the fans are looking forward to the trip.

"We will have a great time regardless," commented Katie Ryding. "We have to go with that attitude."

"Naturally, it's disappointing we don't have more to play for, but we have spent so much money by now."

"We will make the most of spending the festive season in Australia. It is also our first experience away from home over Christmas."

A schoolteacher, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her Christmas holidays.

"As a backup plan, I've got golf to rely on," Katie concluded.
