England Bowling Consultant Tim Southee Unsure on Ashes Availability
Tim Southee's most recent Test for the Kiwis was versus England in December 2024.
England bowling consultant Southee is currently evaluating what his involvement will be during the upcoming Ashes series in Australia.
The former Kiwi seamer is only likely to be available for the first Test because of his participation in the ILT20 competition, which starts on December 2 in the UAE.
The 36-year-old, 36, assumed a role as England's pace bowling advisor in the summer after claiming 391 wickets in 107 Test matches for New Zealand.
Speaking as the English squad for the opening of three Twenty20 games against New Zealand was named, Southee stated of his availability: "We are still evaluating the situation at the present time.
"We will determine what happens over the next little while."
English pace icon Broad had declared the Australia team as their "worst team since 2010", but Southee was in no uncertainty over the anticipated challenge during the contest, which begins on 21 November.
"I don't think there's ever a poor Australian cricket team," Southee remarked.
"The team's attention is firmly on our own objectives. I think the quality of [England's] side that's heading out to Australia is excellent.
"It should be an absolute cracker, that series. Not only [are|do] fans from both nations looking forward to it, I believe the entire cricketing community is."
However, prior to England travel to Perth for the first Ashes match, they take on the Kiwis in the city of Christchurch on this Saturday.
